| Our classes are meant to help give guardians and handlers a good grasp of positive reinforcement training with a clicker, as well a Pit Bull-specific behavior advice and socialization ops, all in a fun and casual park environment Please read over class descriptions below, and select your appropriate class. You may repeat a course or class anytime you would like. Note: Classes are not for seriously reactive dogs, or dogs with any kind of aggression issues. ===================== CLASS DESCRIPTIONS & INFO * Click Bulls! Clicker training & breed basics course. Learn the basics of this humane, modern training method. You'll be able to take what you learn and apply it to training in a variety of circumstances. COST: $50 for six, 1-hr classes. Free for shelter and rescue workers attending with a dog from their organization. See the Calendar Page for start dates. ====================== *CGC Prep: - This course builds upon what was learned in the Click Bulls! course and preps for the Canine Good Citizen test which will be given at the end of the course. Each week we will cover specific CGC exercises and do mock-tests to help you and your dog prepare for certification. The CGC test will be given at the end of the course on the 4th week. Prerequisite: Click Bulls! Course COST: $50 for 4, 1-hr classes which includes the CGC test (AKC submission fee additional). See the Calendar Page for start dates. ====================== *Strut Your Stuff (SYS): - If your dog still has trouble with strong pulling, or leash-reaction, we may recommend taking an additional Click Bulls! course before you try out SYS. SYS is a way to build skill in ‘real world’ environments as we venture out on training walks around town in Garwood and Cranford. We will work on loose leash walking, responding to random cues in distracting environments, and exercise our dogs all at the same time. In addition, this class will act as positive public exposure to the breed as we show off our well-mannered Pit Bulls practicing their skills. Prerequisite: Click Bulls! Course COST: $25 for 3, 1-hr classes. See the Calendar Page for start dates. ====================== * Leash Manners - Learn the "Leash Yielding" training method for teaching your dog to walk nicely on lead. Prerequisite: Click Bulls! Course COST: $20/per dog for one, 1-hr class. Free for shelter and rescue workers attending with a dog from their organization. See the Calendar Page for start dates. ======================= * Total Recall & Stay Solid - Teaching your dog to come NO MATTER WHAT. Based on Leslie Nelson's Really Reliable Recall. This class will give you the tools you need to train that perfect recall. Then work on building a solid STAY, even around distractions. Prerequisite: Click Bulls!
